Louis Vuitton Murakami Spring Summer 2025 Campaign feat Zendaya (Model), shot by Inez van Lamsweerde, Vinoodh Matadin
Louis Vuitton marks 20 years of collaboration with artist Takashi Murakami by unveiling the third and final chapter of its re-edition series, aligned with the House’s Spring Summer 2025 Resort campaign. This celebratory release brings back one of Murakami’s most iconic motifs: the Cherry — a pair of joyful, cartoonish cherries that captures the optimism and irreverence that defined their original debut in the early 2000s.
Shot by the renowned photography duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the accompanying campaign features Louis Vuitton ambassador Zendaya, who embodies the lively spirit of the collection with a distinctly modern edge. Set against a backdrop inspired by the Mediterranean Riviera, Zendaya appears among monumental Cherry sculptures, bringing scale, humor, and surrealism to the campaign’s visuals.
The re-edition collection is extensive, comprising more than 70 items that span leather goods, ready-to-wear, footwear, and accessories. Signature Louis Vuitton craftsmanship is fused with Murakami’s playful aesthetic, with the Cherry motif taking center stage across classic silhouettes such as the Speedy, Alma, and Side Trunk. The cherries—produced with advanced 3D-printing techniques and multi-step serigraphy—boast a high-gloss, tactile surface that adds dimensionality and shine.
Complementing the reimagined Monogram canvas is a new white colorway, offering a clean base for the vivid artwork, as well as a denim capsule collection that features embroidered cherries. Summer essentials like fans, deck chairs, and silk squares further enrich the collection, extending the theme of leisure and play.
Footwear highlights include Monogram denim ballerinas, cherry-accented sneakers, and the striking debut of a 3D Cherry heel on both the raffia Cherie mule and the denim Lily sandal—bold reinterpretations of summer classics that blend humor with elegance.
Accessories continue the narrative with silk scarves, bag charms, and jewelry that double as collectible art pieces. Each item in the collection reflects a desire to capture a sense of timeless joy, nodding to both Murakami’s enduring influence on fashion and Louis Vuitton’s legacy of artistic collaboration.
With this campaign, Louis Vuitton concludes its Murakami series on a vibrant note—celebrating nostalgia, craftsmanship, and innovation in equal measure. Through Zendaya’s luminous presence and the dreamlike photography of Inez and Vinoodh, the brand presents a fitting tribute to one of the most iconic partnerships in contemporary fashion.
